Albay Province, Tabaco City forge partnership with Social Watch Philippines for TINGOG 2015
In their continuous efforts to accelerate the achievement of the Millennium Development goals (MDGs), Albay Governor Joey S. Salceda and Tabaco City Mayor Krisel Lagman-Luistro signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the piloting of TINGOG 2015 initiative also known as the Citizens Action for Governance.
Tingog 2015 is an innovative feedback mechanism that aims to ensure delivery of services in order to fast track achievement of the MDGs by allowing citizens to report and monitor these services in their communities. It will initially focus on responding to reported issues on maternal health care.

House Committee on Rural Development conducts public hearing at Gubat, Sorsogon
The adage: “If Mohammed cannot go to the mountain, then let the mountain go to Mohammed” could not be more true when the House Committee on Rural Development chaired by Rep. Wilfrido Mark M. Enverga (1st District, Quezon) conducted its first out of town public hearing on HB 1330 (BIDANI Act of 2010) at the Municipality of Gubat, Sorsogon on May 20, 2011 at 1:30 P.M.
In his Welcome Remarks, 2nd District Congressman Deogracias B. Ramos, Jr., Vice-Chairman of Rural Development Committee, explained that the public hearing was meant to bring Congress closer to the people, and aimed at getting the views and sentiments of the various sectors regarding the proposed law. 6 Masbate LGUs to receive P10M-worth each of water system project
The municipalities of Cataingan, Cawayan, Mandaon, Milagros, Placer and Uson of the province of Masbate were among the 115 local government units nationwide identified by the National Anti-poverty Commission (NAPC) based on the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction to receive a P10M-worth each of water system project. The project is the flagship program of the Aquino administration and is anchored on Millennium Development Goal No. 7 to half the population without access to safe and potable water and is included in the Philippine Water Sector Roadmap.
